Pentagon: "US forces have taken custody of a small number of ISIS fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces for transfer to the Government of Iraq. The United States is committed to the humane treatment of detainees. While in US custody, detainees are treated humanely and in accordance with the Law of Armed Conflict. As a matter of long standing policy, the Department of Defense will not transfer a detainee to a country where it is more likely than not he will be tortured.
